Overview
Pocketlon is a single-player financial-literacy simulation. It does not require an account and does not connect to banks, brokerages, payment accounts, or other financial services.
Data stored on your device
Game progress, lesson progress, settings, and virtual balances are stored locally on your device and used only to provide app features.
Practice Terminal
The Practice Terminal screen renders a page bundled with the app inside an in-app web view. It is loaded from the app itself, not from the network, so opening it sends nothing off your device. The terminal has no login, sets no cookies, and works fully offline. A copy of the same page is published at pocketlon.com/terminal for anyone who wants to inspect it in a browser.
Content updates
Pocketlon can download additional scenario cards — the short financial situations you react to in the game — from our own server at pocketlon.com. The request is anonymous: it carries no account, no device identifier and nothing about you or your game, and nothing is uploaded from your device. Like any web server, ours records the network address the request came from, in its logs, to deliver the content and to protect the service from abuse; those logs are not linked to a player, a profile or a game. The app also ships with a complete set of cards built in and works fully offline, so this download is optional by design.
Analytics
To understand what works and what confuses players, Pocketlon collects anonymous usage events: which screens are opened and when key milestones happen — finishing onboarding, completing a lesson, making a simulated trade, returning to the app. These events are identified only by a random identifier created on your device. They never include your name, email address, advertising ID, or anything you could be recognized by, and never any precise location. The events are processed for us by PostHog and stored on servers in the European Union. Like any online service, the receiving server sees the network address of the request; it is not used to identify you. You can switch this off at any time in Settings → “Share Anonymous Analytics”, and the app keeps working exactly the same.
Crash reporting
If Pocketlon crashes, a technical report — device model, operating system version, and what the code was doing at that moment — is sent to Sentry, our crash-reporting processor, so we can fix the problem. Crash reports are not linked to your identity and contain no personal information. They are processed on servers in the European Union.
Data we do not collect
Pocketlon does not ask for your name, email address, phone number, precise location, contacts, financial account credentials, or payment information. It contains no advertising and does not track you across other companies’ apps or websites. We do not sell personal information.
Deleting data
Open Settings in Pocketlon and choose “Delete all data” to erase locally stored progress and settings. This also resets the random analytics identifier, so past usage events cannot be connected to anything you do afterwards. Uninstalling the app also removes its local data, subject to normal device backup behavior.
Children’s privacy
Pocketlon is not directed to children under 13 and does not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Changes
We may update this policy when the app changes. The current version and its effective date will remain available on this page.
